Nephtlys

Goddess of Wealth and Fate

The typical worshippers of Nephtlys, goddess of wealth, are merchants, money-changers and thieves. She is neutral as to how her worshippers obtain their wealth but her clerics are generally seen as supporters of trade and civilisation. Merchants sacrifice to her in the hope of decreasing the risk of their journeys. In the last thousand years her temples have become a focus for banking with merchants being able to make deposits in one temple and withdrawing them in a temple in another city. She has temples or shrines in all the major cities of the known areas of Oerth.

Her sacred animal is the spider, large examples of which sometimes inhabit her temples to discourage thieves. She is sometimes depicted herself in spider-form spinning webs of gold.
