Mycr's 'Spirit Gifts'
Although the Mycretian teaching denounces magic Mycr provides 'spirit gifts' to his
followers which to the faithful of other religions look suspiciously like the divine magic
of their own clerics. Non-Mycretion supplicants on a pilgrimage to the
Holy Cities often take this for granted and freely cast
spells they feel are similar to those of the Mycretians. For their part the Mycretian elders
and prophets clearly choose to overlook such technicial breeches of pilgrimmage protocol.
The Mycretian 'spirit gifts' appear to cover the following areas:
- Healing of the body
- Healing of the mind and spirit
- Understanding of intelligent beings and animals
- Influencing of intelligent beings and animals
- Enhancing of skills
- Defence and protection of themselves and others
- Negation of others' magic
- Summoning of help from other planes
- Locating, tracking and scrying on people and objects
- Divining the will of Mycr
- Defence by removal of the threat
The latter category includes 'defence by inflicting a lot of damage on the threat', a
power usually only granted to high level Mycretians. Non-Mycretian supplicants, however,
consider this to be tacit approval that offensive spells may be used in extreme circumstances.
