Gaia is a goddess with no formal temples although the Druidic faith is often seen as
worshipping her. She is, however, indirectly revered by many religions as a Mother Goddess,
a being that even the Gods defer to. For this reason druids are respected by many religions
and most good and neutral clerics and even quite a few evil clerics are keen to avoid
angering her. Some religions see her as the embodiment of Oerth itself, while others
see her as the ultimate creator god. As a result she is never seen as having an avatar as
in a sense the Oerth (or all of creation) is her embodiment.
In the 'Olympian' pantheon Gaia is the mother of the Gods (Zeus, Ares, Hera etc.) which
is a more direct relationship than in the classical non-Oerth Olympian mythology. She is
also somehow recognised by clerics of the Olympian pantheon as the mother of all gods of all
pantheons.
She is not seen as being related to the shadowy 'Elder Gods', however, who are seen as
having no presence on Oerth now. Interestingly her spouse who is sometimes not named and
sometimes referred to as Uranus is in some accounts an 'Elder God', a God of the Heavens.
