The dour city of Drenchport huddles forlornly on Tempest Cay. Its storm-lashed buildings are built of waterlogged driftwood and flotsam from wrecked ships. Am infamous tavern called the Drenched Dwarf stands towards the port's
edge. It is famous for two things: its high murder rate and the excellence of its cheap but strangely delicious black kelp beer. The secret of brewing the beer is closely guarded as it is the key to the wealth of the proprieters, two blonde-haired dwarf women, former shipmates of the dreaded Redbeard Sewk.
Newcomers to the port can hope for no more than surly tolerance and they are far more likely to meet more lethal attitudes unless they exercise extreme caution. It scarcely seems possible, since most of Drenchport's seedy taverns, ramshackle houses and warehouses seem to cling to the rocky shoreline like barnacles to the
hull of a ship, but Drenchport is home to a population of nearly 10,000. Political power is held by the Master of Gales a druid who has found his mastery over wind and wave a handy skill for a pirate. He is, however,
rarely in the port and has little concern for its inhabitants unless they offer him something in return.
