The Dragon Lord Hills are an area of hills in southern Oricha said to be a thriving part
of the Orichalian Empire in
ancient times.
The hills are now largely depopulated apart from
Altanian tribesman who hunt the plentiful game. The
game also attracts a number of other predators including wolves, mountain lions and
sabre-tooth tigers.
The lingering magics of the bygone era occasional warp the local fauna into more aggressive
'dire' versions. Gigantic versions on insects are also sometimes seen in the area
including giant ants which although vegetarian can be very aggressive if disturbed.
Parties of treasure-seekers are sometimes seen in the hills seeking lost
artefacts of the Empire. These include in recent years
the Amiondel Elves who are not above taking slaves if they chance upon groups weaker than
themselves.
