The population of Damkina varies. In the winter in addition to the one thousand registered
citizens there are generally a few hundred visitors. In the summer the population might rise
to several thousand. It is fairly common for travellers in the summer to be forced to sleep in
their boats or to camp outside the walls. The citizens are 60% human, 10% elven, 10% dwarven,
5% halfling, 5% orc and 5% more exotic races. The Overlord is very strict in
ensuring all citizens being
treated equally by his goverment so orc paladins are not unheard of. Having said that the
nobles have only ever
been human or elven.
In the summer the population is boosted by representatives of practically every community
in the northern wilderlands big or small as well as nomadic tribesmen and wandering hunters.
In addition merchants from all corners of the
wilderlands might venture to Damkina and sometimes come from even further afield e.g. the
Empire of Karak in the East.
