Tale of the Years

Year
  1.    Foundation of the Vedran Empire.
  2.    The Vedrans conquer the local tribesman of the Larches area and establish a fort, which they name Deva, at the junction of the East and West Larch Rivers.
  3.    An Orcish army wipe out a Vedran legion on the Northern Plains.
  4.    The commander of the Vedran forces at Deva declares himself Emperor and takes his forces south to back his claim.
  5.    Vedra sacked by barbarians.
  6.    Rykar "The Sleepless" founds Rykarsburg and Stonebridge (as Starston Bridge was known for many years) and becomes first Earl of the Larches.
  7.    Scaef, Marshal of the Larches, and the sister of Earl Rylar IV flee westwards to found Skeffington.
  8.    Karlyr 'the Bull', an inveterate lecher becomes Earl of the Larches
  9.    Daretta the Fair a beautiful magician, seduces Karlyr and usurps control of the Earldom of the Larches.
  10.    Northern Plain Orcs stirred up by Daretta invade the Elven forest realm of Galathril.
  11.    Daretta driven out of the North by the paladin Risten who becomes Count of Starstone County (as the Larches becomes).
  12.    Risten brokers an historic peace treaty between the Northern Plain Orcs and the Elves of Galathril.
  13.    Birth of Peregrine, Risten's heir.
  14.    Risten is killed and his heir lost in mysterious circumstances. A call to arms to find his killers leads to the disasterous expedition to the Northern Waste where the flower of Starstone's chivalry perishes. Sandhill, a halfling settlement in Starstone County is attacked and totally destroyed by goblin raiders who then secretly occupy the nearby Broch.
  15.    Carandor goes to war with Toxandria at the behest of its ally Argannon. The war which continues to this day has the effect of making Carandor more lawless as both city guards and rangers are called up.
  16.    Perkin Waldum, a merchant of Ristenby, hires a motley crew of guards to accompany his wagon from Marineldol to Ristenby.
