The maps presented here are based on the best available from the Cambrian Bardic Colleges.
It is well known that the greatest explorers (certainly by sea) are the Elves and they are also recognised as the
most accurate map makers. All the maps shown will be to a greater of lesser degree based on Elven maps which to
a greater or lesser degree have been annotated by Cambrian scholars.
Maps of the
Northern Waste for instance will be almost identical to the Elven originals for
few dare to sail the Northern Seas apart from the Elves and the
Reavers. All the geographical features named therefore have the original Elvish names.
On the other hand maps of
Cambria,
Reetland and
Sankhar will have been annotated almost completely to show local names.
Elsewhere there is likely to be a partial mix of local and Elvish names with Cambrian corruptions of these
for the most well known locations.
It should also be said that the maps of the Western Khanate
are to a large extent out of date although since the disintegration of that state Sankhat military patrols
have penetrated many areas particularly in the west of the country and their knowledge will have been used to
update the maps.
