Arras Castle

Arras castle commands both the nearby road and waterway. During the Purging of the Holy Cities the castle was taken by the Viridians but was unexpectedly abandoned about fifteen years ago allowing the son of the original owner to reoccupy it. Known as Hrunabab the Even-handed the lord of the castle dilligently sticks to his duty of protecting the trade routes with a garrison of about 150 men.

One of the main threats to trade and pilgrims is the presence of a community of lizardmen in the river who the Viridians did too little to control. Now they frequently test the ability of the castle patrols to ensure the safety of traffic on the road and river. The castle charge a small toll to travellers to pay for the provisions needed for the troops.
