The Aerie of the Stonemasters is a dwarvish monastery renowned throughout the Wilderlands.
The monastery sits on a rocky outcrop in the midst of the Dragon-Lord Hills. It is the
centre of teaching for the mysterious Way of Stone, a martial arts philosophy that incorporates
both unarmed combat and also the art of the Dwarven Defender. Although the Masters of the
monastery are in no way xenophobic non-dwarves are not allowed within its walls and even
dwarves are only allowed in on monastery business. The monastery teaches the Way to both
male and female dwarves which is considered controversial in some conservative dwarven
communities. Further it is believed some of the Masters are in fact female.
The Masters, however, rarely speak to outsiders. A young monk named Narin is the face of
the monastery to the outside world. All aspirants are screened in the first instance by
Narin and he also organises rather irregular patrols of the surrounding countryside.
